Meet Plastic Surgeon Dr. Borko

A biography of an extraordinary man, physician/plastic surgeon, and humanitarian whose life has been devoted to his patients and the world community.

Dr. Borko Djordjevic, MD, PhD, FICS, FAACS

Dr. Borko Djordjevic (pronounced Jor’-ja-vik) is a distinguished physician in his field and has always remained at the forefront of cosmetic and reconstructive surgery’s latest advances. Board-qualified by the American Board of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ABPRS) and the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery (AACS), Dr. Borko specializes in general plastic surgery as well as reconstructive and aesthetic surgery, including facelifts, rhinoplasty, blepharoplasty, chemical peels, and liposuction.

In addition to being at the top of his field, Dr. Borko is also a painter and sculptor with an astonishing eye for beauty.

“As a youth, I cared for my ailing father. He told me, ‘You should be a doctor because you have such a caring manner.’ Those words encouraged me and triggered my passion for the work I would devote myself to.”

Dr. Borko’s commitment to his patients is at the core of his dedication. He believes it is important to take care of each patient’s psychological being as well as physical being. He delves into their motivation for having a cosmetic procedure and makes sure that his and his patient’s vision is the same.

Doing a facelift, for instance, in a piecemeal way is not in the best interest of the patient. Therefore, the doctor will only proceed if the patient agrees to a multifaceted approach if that is what is needed.

“I continue to hone my techniques. Yes, I’m a perfectionist.”

Dr. Borko is not a man who is ever satisfied with the status quo. He says, “I am constantly moving forward. I never go back.” What that means for his patients is that they are receiving the latest technology and treatments from a surgeon always in pursuit of perfection.

His vertical facelifts create the most natural results. Likewise, his body sculpting liposuction techniques are his alone.

“There is so much need around the world. I am proud to use my skills to better mankind.”

After spending four years in his native Yugoslavia helping wounded war victims and operating under the most primitive conditions, his touch became even more sensitive and precise. Working in a crisis atmosphere, with much at stake, his dexterity and ingenuity were stretched to the limit. As a result, he accomplished more in less time and learned how to further shorten the recovery period for his patients.

“I am happy to share what I continue to learn.”

As a practicing doctor of plastic surgery as well as a professor, editor, and researcher, Dr. Borko strives to create discussions among members of the profession that will benefit patients and doctors alike.

He left his busy practice in the U.S. to work with patients in the war-torn areas of Eastern Europe. In the four years he spent in this capacity, he acquired new skills that helped lessen patient recovery time. He also taught the latest techniques and treatments to medical students and medical professionals.

“I’ve had a fabulous life because I’ve always been my own man.”

Author and Hollywood columnist Norma Lee Browning wrote about Dr. Borko in her book “FACELIFTS: Everything You Always Wanted to Know.” One quote encapsulates the doctor in just a few words: “I have seen a lot of his work and have talked to him many times. I’ve checked out his medical credentials and his office clinic; I’m impressed with his serious, intense, almost fanatic approach to his work; with his artistic and sensitive approach to a woman’s face; and with his more than average concern for his patients.”

“Although Dr. Borko has been chosen to do surgery for some of the most famous celebrities in the world, he has always balanced that privilege with helping those who are most in need.”
